Delaware County Human Services presented several items using opioid-settlement funds to support care implementation, case management and workforce services, and the council moved the items to the consent agenda.
Chair introduced Item 7A, a contract with a listed vendor not to exceed $320,630 to support opioid-settlement funding for intensive case management services. Human Services staff then described a related contract: “Delaware County Human Services is requesting council's permission to enter into a contract with Merakey in order to support ongoing case management and engagement specialist services aimed at connecting individuals with opioid use disorder to recovery services,” public-health staff said.
Separately, staff asked council’s approval for workforce-development contracts tied to opioid-settlement implementation: a contract with EDSI for veterans career services (up to $250,000 in one item and a separate $70,000 veterans career-services contract) and a Steadman Group agreement (up to $170,000) for strategic planning and grantee evaluation. County staff said the contracts are part of a coordinated implementation plan for settlement dollars and will be administered subject to solicitor approval.
