Delaware County staff presented several workforce and education items that the council advanced to the consent agenda, covering transportation supports, school-based career panels and veterans services.
Director Chris Welch requested approval to enter into the state contract for the Medical Assistance Transportation Program (MATP), describing the county’s role as the state’s contractor administrator who then contracts with local providers. Workforce staff (Ms. McGeever) explained a $135,000 renewal with the Delaware County Chamber of Commerce to support the Business Education Partnership; she said the program will cover 28 school and countywide career events, including apprenticeship and STEAM events.
McGeever also described two veterans-related items: a $70,000 contract with EDSI for veterans career services and an increase to Partners for Justice from $81,000 to $164,516.79 for veterans case management and supportive services. Council members asked for projections and evaluation of outcomes; staff said 24 in-school events and four countywide events (28 total) are planned and that contract oversight will include monitoring provider performance.
