The county planning department asked council to approve an amendment to JMT’s contract on the Delco Woods Loop Trail project adding two new work items: an archaeological survey required by the State Historic Preservation Office and a natural-trail plan to formalize existing footpaths without damaging sensitive areas.
Planning staff described the two elements: "JMT has put in a proposal to do that work under their existing contract with this amendment, and that cost of that work is $22,760," and the natural-trails plan was listed at $123,212, bringing the amendment total to $145,972, which staff said is within the Capital Improvement Program budget of $169,950. The natural-trail plan will identify routes that avoid streambanks and sensitive areas and will create wayfinding and signage plans; staff said these trails would be natural (not paved). Council moved the amendment to the consent agenda.
