The Reed-Custer Community Unit School District 255U Board of Education completed its organizational business at its July 15, 2026, meeting, appointing officers and seating a new member. On a series of motions and roll-call votes the board named Kris Van Duyne board president, Michael Grace vice president and Jesse Morris secretary; each appointment passed unanimously among members present.
Nichole Wood was appointed to the board on a motion by Melissa Micklos and took the Oath of Office during the same meeting. After Wood's appointment the minutes record a 6-0 roll-call vote in favor of subsequent actions. The board also set representatives and committee rosters: Jesse Morris as WILCO board representative; Kris Van Duyne as IASB delegate and IASB governing board representative; and members named to policy, finance, building and grounds, superintendent review, and contract negotiations committees.
The organizational session followed a closed session earlier in the meeting. No discussion items were listed after committee assignments and the board adjourned at 6:59 p.m.
