Facilities and operations updates featured in the July 15 Reed-Custer board meeting. Superintendent Brad Elliot said furniture delivery for the elementary addition is scheduled for Monday, August 10, 2026, and that completion looks on track for the new school year. Assistant Superintendent for Operations Matt Peterson reported custodial work about 75% complete, elementary addition cleaning beginning July 27 if not before, and planned parking-lot sealing and striping at multiple sites.
Peterson said the district received a $3,000 grant from ESIC (work comp insurance) to purchase ladders, folding chairs and other items, and noted facility updates including new countertops and flooring work in the high school main office and new letters for the high-school front sign scheduled for July 30. He also reported that "as of today, 350 kids still need to register," an enrollment reminder for families ahead of the school year. The district also received a thank-you from Braidwood Fire Department for use of the elementary building for training on July 9.
