At its Sept. 15 meeting the Garland City Council took multiple formal actions: it approved the consent agenda with item 4 pulled for later discussion; approved a rezoning amendment for Lone Star Green Homes (Item 7A) unanimously; approved a planned development for Bobtown Road (Item 7B) by a 7–2 vote with an amendment requiring a construction-management plan from the applicant; and confirmed two committee appointments.
Votes of note: Item 7A (PD amendment for Lone Star Green Homes) was moved by Councilmember Moore and seconded by Councilmember Thomas and approved unanimously. Item 7B (Bobtown PD) was moved by Councilmember Moore, seconded by Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Dutton, amended to require a construction-management plan and approved 7–2 (Councilmembers Scobiano and Tran voted no). The council also approved Josh Palondo to the Bridal Services Advisory Committee and Christina Godfrey to the All Abilities Committee.
Council directed staff to work with the approved 7B applicant on construction routing and timing rules intended to reduce neighborhood impacts during building and indicated intent to schedule a work session to examine Bobtown and Lyons roads for potential capital or safety improvements.
