Staff told the committee the planning team is working with the climate action plan contractors to build a consolidated dashboard that will surface progress across six separate plans — the comprehensive plan, transportation master plan, parks/facilities, open space plan, the vulnerability assessment and the climate action plan. "If you the public wants to know what's going on with traffic, it will pull all of the different pieces and give you sort of a picture of where we are and what we have left to do," the staff member said.
The Chair announced an MDOT presentation on Sept. 22 at the Shaw Gym Forum that outlines both a two‑lane and a four‑lane corridor alternative and addresses pedestrian and bicycle safety. Members also noted Maine Municipal Association work on housing mandates and infrastructure funding that may influence how the town sequences comp plan implementation.
Staff asked the committee to consider these statewide and regional initiatives when finalizing recommendations and said the dashboard aims to make the comp plan a living document with measurable priorities and public visibility.
