Community development director announces departure; transition planning to follow

A member of the planning department announced they will be leaving their role as community development director and have accepted a job as the City of Spearfish city administrator, pending a contract approval by city council. Staff said they expect to begin the new position immediately if the council approves the contract and that the department will prepare a transition plan to maintain continuity.

"I've taken a new job. I'll be leaving my post as the community development director, and ... I've accepted the job as the city of Spearfish, city administrator," the staff member said, adding that a contract must still be approved by the city council. Staff said they will work on a transition plan to keep department operations seamless.
