CRA funds earmarked for turn‑lane construction at CR 437 and Sorrento Avenue

Jamie Brown told the advisory committee that at its Aug. 25 CRA board meeting the board approved the Mount Plymouth CRA fiscal year 2027 budget and a resolution authorizing an expenditure of $157,000 of CRA/TIF funds for turn‑lane construction at the intersection of County Road 437 and Sorrento Avenue. Brown said staff recommended proceeding to award the work to Seep Construction under contract 21‑O519 to implement the intersection improvements.

Brown presented a concept plan showing dedicated left and right turn lanes and about 530 linear feet of new pavement; she said no additional right‑of‑way is required and sidewalks are not included in the concept because right‑of‑way is insufficient. Committee members urged staff to continue exploring future sidewalk segments and connectivity when funds allow.
