The board approved a $1,000,000 CRA contribution to the Crystal Lake Park Loop Trail project. The recreation director presented project plans showing a trail link around Crystal Lake Park with a 12-foot paved trail, expanded green space behind the library, a Victorian-style garden and a food-truck area. The construction estimate was given as $1,000,703.34; staff said the CRA portion requested is $1,000,000 and the balance will be paid with impact fees.
"So what I'm asking the CRA today is for 1000000 dollars for this project," the recreation director said. Staff told the board contractors (Gomez Construction) are lined up and work could start in 60–90 days after approvals. The board moved, seconded and approved the funding by roll call. Staff said lighting, benches and site furnishings are part of the scope and that impact fees will cover the remainder.
