County behavioral‑health leaders described two new tools they said will strengthen the local crisis response: a grant‑funded digital referral platform called "July" and a federal grant used to procure an ALS truck to limit lengthy transports of behavioral‑health clients.
"July is the name of the platform," the executive director said, describing the system as a way to move referrals from paper and phone calls to a digital workflow that is live with four Delaware County entities and available for others to join under memoranda of understanding. On the truck, Wright said: "We wrote a federal grant. We got $300,000 give or take," and explained that while the truck can be used for other emergency responses, the board must report behavioral‑health transports to the federal grantor.
Board leaders framed both items as practical investments to shorten response chains and keep clients from long out‑of‑county trips for treatment, and said the initiatives are part of broader planning including MOUs and training standards for regional response.
