Township staff on Sept. 14 received authorization to advertise a request for proposals for a feasibility study and long‑term operating plan for the Middletown Country Club, whose current management agreement expires in 2028. Staff said the study will examine current operations (golf, catering, bar, shop), historical financial performance, alternative operating models (continued private management, direct township operation, mixed models), facility and infrastructure conditions, and a 10‑year capital and operating pro forma.
Staff emphasized that authorizing the RFP is not a commitment to a contract; the study will inform a November presentation with findings and recommendations. Supervisor comments expressed hope that the outcome will revitalize the country club and potentially restore amenities such as the former pool. The board approved the RFP advertisement 5–0.
