During public comment at the Sept. 14 meeting, resident Tom Moore told commissioners a nearby property has been the subject of prolonged construction and nonconforming accessory structures, including storage containers he said have been there since 2025. He urged the commission to keep the case on the city's radar and said neighbors remain frustrated.
Director Longnecker responded that the matter is an active code enforcement case: notices of violation and citations have been issued and the city has been in court. He said the property recently passed a building inspection, which under the municipal process provides another six months before the next required inspection; staff will return to enforcement if the property does not schedule and pass the next inspection in late October or early November.
Longnecker said staff have the case on the calendar and that follow‑up action will occur if inspections are not legitimately scheduled and passed. That schedule provides a near‑term opportunity for enforcement officials and concerned neighbors to track compliance.
