The Personnel Committee reviewed a new draft of the city-manager recruitment materials on Sept. 14. Interim City Manager Alyssa Meeks said the draft updated the prior recruitment packet and reflected the council’s desire for more personnel-committee involvement in question creation and oversight of the retained firm.
Committee members discussed procurement logistics and whether to reuse the same company used previously. One committee member noted the firm could provide services “at cost” with “no profit built in” and that the provider offered a two-year guarantee. The group discussed lengthening the advertisement period to attract more bidders and left the publication timeline tentative. “I put a clause below there that it is a tentative timeline but may be subject to change,” Meeks said, asking members to review the draft and return comments.
Members agreed the timeline should allow for review and, if necessary, for the city to push the schedule by a week; the committee discussed a target award date of Nov. 10 but characterized dates as guidelines. Staff said they would circulate a revised draft for deeper review and that a final decision would follow additional member comments.
