Cass County officials include Laporte Construction quote among bridge bids for review

Cass County officials reviewed recent contractor submissions for a local bridge project and moved to include a quote from Laporte Construction in the pool of bids for further evaluation. A staff member told the meeting the figures provided by Laporte included $57,830 for bridge repair and $54,470 for bridge strengthening; the staff member also said it was the last bid received for the project.

The chair asked for a motion to include the Laporte bid with the other two bids that had been received. A committee member moved the action and a second was recorded; the chair then called for a voice vote. "And that's the last bid for that project," the staff member said as the board proceeded to vote in favor by voice. The bids will be reviewed by staff before the board takes any procurement action.
