During the Sept. 4 special session, Second District County Commissioner Wayne Grable said the board had received complaints about dirt hauled onto Friendship Road near 105th Road that is creating a raised surface, or 'speed bump,' and causing semi-trucks to land hard on the bridge structure. Grable said the condition could cause damage to the bridge.
"Commissioner Grable informed Commissioner Collins of complaints received about dirt hauled on Friendship Road, near 105th Road, creating a speed bump in the road causing semi-trucks to land hard on the bridge structure causing potential damage to the bridge," the minutes state. Road Office Manager Lindsay Norris was instructed to notify First District Road Foreman Joey Collins to inspect and follow up.
The minutes record the direction to staff but do not include any immediate action, inspection results, or timeline for remediation.
