Leah Stockton of Keys Health & Housing told the advisory board the Lofts of Bahama Village are celebrating one year of occupancy. "We moved people in, this time last year," Stockton said, and she thanked the board and partners for helping make the development a local housing resource.
Stockton reported current and upcoming unit availability—two three-bedroom units and one two-bedroom unit were expected to become vacant—and said, according to her rental-side numbers, "91 of the 98 units" were from the local area (the transcript recorded an additional numeric reference that appeared as "33045"). She said the loſts are providing homes for Key West residents and described measures to reduce unsafe traffic movements from the parking lot, such as larger signs and reminders for left-turn only departures.
Board members thanked Stockton and noted the lofts add capacity to local housing options. No formal board action was taken on the housing update.
