A Seminole County magistrate found the owners of 2340 Worthington Road in Maitland in violation of Seminole County code chapter 95.5, section 3.0.3.1 for failing to keep a swimming pool in a clean, sanitary and operable condition and ordered compliance within 30 days or $250 per day in fines thereafter.
Code enforcement officer Katina Hill presented inspection photos showing a green pool on the initial inspection (Nov. 4, 2025) and follow-up visits through Sept. 8, 2026. Hill said notices and a compliance schedule were mailed and posted; she submitted the digital case file into evidence and recommended 30 days to comply or the $250 daily penalty.
Respondent Shadia Andrews and Antonio Arroyo described efforts to drain and treat the pool, explained the effect of recent rains and stated they had purchased pumps and planned chemical treatment. "I have proof for the receipts of the pool pumps that Antonio bought to, start fixing the pool," Shadia Andrews said. The magistrate confirmed the property is homesteaded and accepted the evidence; the order requires compliance within 30 days or the stated fine will begin accruing.
The officer also requested the county be notified if ownership transfers so future buyers are aware of the violation. The magistrate accepted the electronic case file into evidence.
