A Seminole County magistrate found that the vacant property owned by Roy and Horace Mack at 1200 Oak Street, Altamonte Springs, presents a health-and-safety threat and ordered that it be brought into compliance by Sept. 25, 2026, or the county may secure or demolish the structures and impose fines of $500 per day.
Code enforcement officer Jamal Jackson testified that multiple inspections showed the structure had no roof, vegetation growing through the frame, and no corrective action taken by owners. Jackson said all responsible parties were notified and that no mortgage was found in the title records. He requested a health-and-safety tag and transfer-of-ownership notification; in this case he recommended 15 days to comply or a $500 daily fine.
The magistrate accepted the digital case file and photos into evidence and issued a finding that the property is in violation of Seminole County IPMC chapter 95.5 and related sections. The magistrate ordered the county has the authority, though not the obligation, to secure or demolish the property if it remains noncompliant by Sept. 25, 2026; fines will cease if the county demolishes the structures and the county may lien the property for demolition costs.
