At its Sept. 14 meeting the New Albany Architectural Review Board approved three certificates of appropriateness:
- Englefield Oil (ARB57-2026): Relocation of an existing monument sign to accommodate Gatton Parkway right-of-way expansion; approval includes two PUD waivers (freestanding sign and two logos).
- Infinite Church (ARB59-2026): Approval of architectural appropriateness for a 46,744-square-foot church on Walton Parkway; staff and applicant committed to lower north elevation scale and extended tree buffering to reduce impacts on Cedar Brook neighborhood; site-level items will go to the planning commission.
- Gotcha Athletic Campus (ARB61-2026): Phase 1 approval for a 49-acre athletic campus with multiple support buildings, netting, and provisions for future press boxes. The board conditioned approval on the applicant coordinating final block, mortar and material specifications with the city architect, and recommended considering higher-grade (40-year) shingles for durability.
All motions passed by unanimous vote. Several items — including landscaping, parking screening and final material specifications — will return to staff or the planning commission as part of permitting.
