At its Sept. 14 meeting the Planning & Zoning Board recommended approval to the city commission on several land-use items: a voluntary annexation, rezoning and small-scale comprehensive plan amendment for 670 Williams Road (6.63 acres), a voluntary annexation and rezoning for 101 Linda Road (0.77 acres), an annexation for a 1.94-acre parcel on Alberta Street, and a small-scale comprehensive plan amendment and companion rezoning to city conservation for roughly 7 acres on Page Avenue acquired for Turnbull Creek preservation. All of those recommendations passed on unanimous 7-0 votes.
City staff summarized each proposal and told the board the annexations and rezoning requests were consistent with the city's future land-use and preservation objectives. "The planning department recommends that the planning zoning board give a positive recommendation to the city commission to approve the requested annexation, small scale comprehensive plan amending and rezoning," staff said in the Page Avenue presentation. There were no substantive public objections recorded for these items at the hearing; the board's recommendations will move forward to the city commission for final action.
