The Lincoln Town Council voted at its Sept. 14 work session to defer the municipal affordable-housing-fund public hearing to the October work session and to schedule a joint meeting with the Lincoln Water Commission.
"I'll entertain a motion to defer this to the October work session," the chair said, and a council member moved and another seconded the deferral. The chair confirmed the council had received 23 written questions for the water commission and said officials wanted to leave time for back-and-forth between the council and commissioners. The motion carried on a voice vote.
The move sets the public hearing for Oct. 19 to allow both the council and the water commission to appear the same night. The agenda review for the council's upcoming regular meeting also included multiple event licenses, appointments to boards and commissions, and reports from subcommittees, all of which the council said it will consider at its next meeting.
