The board approved the instructional and non-instructional personnel agenda, including a certified special-education teacher position the superintendent said was budgeted as part of the 2026-27 school budget.
Superintendent Michael Plotkin told trustees the special-education position was included in budgeting "based on the numbers of special education students projections" and therefore listed as "budgeted" in the personnel attachment. The board also approved a new classified "principal personnel specialist" role created through a budget-neutral HR restructuring to better match civil-service descriptions; the superintendent said the move does not increase overall salaries for the affected positions.
Trustees raised a separate concern about coaching stipends: a single name appeared both as varsity assistant coach and junior-varsity head coach for volleyball. The superintendent explained the district could not find a separate JV coach and the person will fill both roles, handling scheduling and logistics. Trustees accepted that explanation but asked administration to provide more precise logistics if requested.
