The nursing home presenter said the facility currently uses PointClickCare as its electronic medical record and proposed adding a scheduling platform, OnShift, and an MDS scrubber to automate PBJ and CMS submissions.
Dawn said OnShift would cost about $600 per month plus a one-time $2,500 implementation fee; the MDS scrubber was priced at about $400 per month and would generate automated PBJ reporting to CMS, replacing manual entry. Dawn said the automation would allow staff to compare scheduled versus actual hours and produce PBJ reports for the administrative assistant to upload to CMS, a requirement she said must be accurate to avoid fines and to protect the home's staffing star rating.
Dawn also described a possible PointClickCare (PCC) upgrade but said the initial PCC proposal would substantially increase costs and that she is negotiating with the vendor to lower the price before bringing it to the committee for budget approval. Committee members asked who would handle data entry and Dawn emphasized the automation eliminates most manual entries today.
