Speakers at the Glynn County remembrance repeatedly highlighted the sacrifices of first responders and the community’s ongoing obligations to remember them. A county representative told the audience that "our firefighters, law enforcement officers, dispatchers, EMTs, and our emergency management professionals carry forward the legacy" of those who answered the call on Sept. 11.
The ceremony pointed attendees to a nearby memorial wall that includes the names of local residents and a federal agent who died on Flight 93, and speakers noted that, beginning in 2015, names of responders who later died of illnesses linked to rescue work have been added. Organizers also noted the role of ongoing philanthropy, scholarship funds and memorials established after 9/11 to support families and commemorate service.
The event included participation by junior ROTC in a flag placement and brief musical performance. No formal government actions or policy proposals were advanced during the ceremony; remarks were framed as remembrance and gratitude.
