Council reviews Pumpkin Fest and youth softball fundraising plans

Committee member (recreation) reminded the council that the Pumpkin Fest is approaching and asked about permitting a single drink vendor and a single food vendor for a coed softball fundraiser to raise money for the Little League program. The member said organizers will require appropriate insurance from any vendor and plan to solicit in-kind and percentage donations to support youth sports so players pay little or nothing to participate.

Members agreed the plan was acceptable provided organizers secure insurance and obtain the necessary approvals; Chair asked staff to confirm any approvals and vendor insurance before the events.
