Staff summarized two staffing restructures that the committee approved. For the prosecuting attorney's office, staff reported evaluation results recommending an administrator at grade 9 (matching the public defender administrator) and two division coordinator positions graded at 6; staff estimated implementation costs around $35,004.73 and noted retiree benefit savings could offset some of that amount. "In total... we're estimating $35,004.73," staff said during the presentation. Commissioners moved and approved the change and discussed timing and budget amendment options.
On the construction codes side, staff said the restructure reflects post-planning-and-zoning changes: an office manager (grade 6), a permit specialist (grade 4) and a lead building inspector promoted to grade 9. Staff also said soil erosion work will be time-docked and accounted for in a separate fund, with an implementation date proposed for Jan. 4 and an estimated first-year budget impact to be refined.
