Pryor Creek councilors voted to recommend a work order asking the city engineer to complete design plans for the 29th and Elliott intersection without commissioning a separate traffic study.
Staff presented an updated drawing that includes utilities; the engineering explanation emphasized the need to pothole and verify existing high-pressure mains before finalizing alignment and suggested a conservative design if a traffic study is not available. "I have a recommend council action regarding a work order from Dale to complete the design for the intersection without a traffic study," the clerk read aloud before the roll-call vote.
Council members raised driveway impacts for a nearby residence (Miss Cox), discussed options to shorten or relocate her driveway and debated whether a lane or merge configuration should be built now or reserved for a future phase. Staff noted County Commissioner Grossman had indicated willingness to assist on the project if city plans are ready and suggested the county could help with striping and maintenance once built.
The council approved the recommendation to proceed with design work without a traffic study and asked staff to produce cost estimates and preliminary plans for the county and for future budgeting.
