Riverton’s Planning Commission on Sept. 10 approved an amended site plan for Jordan Credit Union at 2522 West 126 South that will replace the building’s stucco facade with a more modern metal-and-glass look and install water‑efficient landscaping.
Tim, the city planner presenting the item, said the remodel is “pretty substantial” but that most site features — including building footprint, parking counts and traffic flow — remain unchanged. He told the commission the plan removes an existing canopy, reconfigures some islands near the drive-through and replaces sod with water‑wise plantings, and staff “will do their best to save as many trees as they can while they’re doing construction.”
The applicant (introduced by staff as Reid Winterstein with CIR Engineering) confirmed the team’s preference for the shorter freestanding sign in option 2 and said the site’s ITM/ATM elements will not be lit continuously. Commissioners praised the design; several said the green accent “pops,” and Commissioner Cliff moved to approve PLZ-26-8025 with conditions that included a preference for option 2. Commissioner Beck seconded, and the motion passed unanimously.
The commission requested that the applicant provide updated plans showing preserved trees and clarified exterior materials during building permit review. The commission’s action was limited to the site-plan amendment; building permit approvals and construction follow standard administrative review.
