The Willard City Council on Sept. 10 approved Resolution 2026-06 to ratify prior zoning-map amendments and adopt a corrected official zoning map. Planning staff told the council they had reviewed rezones over the last decade and found numerous parcels that either had been included incorrectly or omitted from earlier updates.
“...I went back 10 years and, just corrected our zoning map, looking at all of the rezones over the past 10 years,” planning staff said, explaining the cleanup work. Council members asked staff to ensure the map legend and printouts include all colors and labels so the public can review the changes. The council moved and seconded the measure and completed a roll-call vote recorded by the mayor’s office; affirmative responses were recorded and the chair declared the resolution carried.
The resolution was described by staff as an administrative cleanup to align GIS and ordinance records with approved rezoning actions. Staff said the corrected map will be used going forward for public notices and future land-use decisions.
