The Orchard City Council convened Sept. 12, 2017, and approved several administrative actions, including acceptance of the 2017 audit presentation and adoption of a rollback tax rate for maintenance and operations. Mayor Rod Pavlock presided; Commissioners Matt Perreault and Joe Supak joined the unanimous series of motions that recorded approval of routine business.
Among the specific measures, the council adopted a rollback tax rate of $0.356684 for Maintenance and Operations and approved a resolution authorizing applications and applicant certification with Texas Parks and Wildlife. The council also adopted a fee schedule to let the Code Enforcement Officer perform inspections and plan reviews. Financial actions included approval of August 2017 financial statements and a transfer of $26,763.48 from General Fund Savings to General Fund Checking, which incorporated prior transfers of $11,400.00 on Aug. 24 and $10,000.00 on Sept. 7. Two items — an update on water meters and the 2018 budget — were tabled for later consideration.
