Administration brought several finance items to the committee, including a recommendation to replace aging boardroom audio equipment, the district's annual mass-transit exclusion filing, and the routine annual approval of bank depositories.
On the audio system, administration reported a vendor quote of $42,493 that includes a service contract. Presenters said the recommended solution was roughly half the cost of the next-lowest quote and described the package as a mid-tier option selected to balance quality and cost. Board members asked for clarifications on the installation portion of the quote and requested references from nearby districts using the same setup; administration said it would follow up.
The presenter also described the mass-transit exclusion filing process and explained that, because the district has strong access to public transit options (buses and trains), it is eligible for the annual exclusion. Administration noted limited early-year ridership data because of a later school start but described the outreach process they use to confirm route and ridership information.
Finally, the board approved, without change, the annual list of bank depositories used to handle district funds; administration said there were no additions from last year except a bank previously added to hold a health-account fund during the insurance renewal process.
