City code enforcement officer William Hunt presented the case file for 120 Brentwood Drive (case 20250016), listing three violations: missing exterior protective treatment after an addition, grading and drainage problems including a foundation hole, and unsightly or unsanitary storage and construction debris. "Currently, it is at $12,600 as of today," Hunt told the board when summarizing accumulated fees.
Hunt said the most recent citation was delivered by building inspector Mark Stewart and that recent front-yard work — seeding and straw and filling of the hole — had been completed, which resets the 180-day permit window. "So he's good for another 6 months," Hunt said when board members asked about permit status. Staff emphasized that findings must be written and supported by the record before any order can be issued.
Thompson did not dispute the factual description of the violations but asked the board to consider the property's long history and prior owners. He said the property has been under construction for multiple years and that he bought it in February 2025. Thompson asked the board to weigh a path that balanced enforcement with the practical work required to finish the exterior.
