Crowley ISD trustees on Monday recognized eight campuses that earned a total of 15 distinction designations from the Texas Education Agency, Superintendent Dr. Michael McFarland and Chief Academic Officer Dr. Anna Rowe said.
Dr. Anna Rowe told the board that TEA awards up to seven distinctions in areas such as academic achievement in reading and mathematics, academic growth, closing performance gaps and postsecondary readiness. She said the district’s campuses demonstrated broad improvement across those measures and named each school being honored, noting Oakmont Elementary earned five distinctions this year.
"It is my honor and great privilege to celebrate along with you tonight our campuses who have earned designation distinctions by the Texas Education Agency for outstanding performance," Dr. Rowe said, and she thanked campus leaders, teachers and staff for their work.
Superintendent McFarland told trustees the designations validate the district’s instructional work and said banner deliveries to campuses would begin the next day. Trustees offered brief remarks of congratulations and were invited to meet campus leaders and pose for a group photo.
The recognition is part of routine district accountability reporting; Dr. Rowe said the distinctions reflect intentional instructional leadership and year-over-year student growth that will inform the board’s goal-setting work.
