Board declares three budget‑committee seats vacant and reappoints two members after votes

Executive Director Matt Makara asked the board to declare budget committee positions 8, 10 and 11 vacant so the board could either reappoint incumbents or open applications. Director Dipan Trentonio moved to declare the three positions vacant; the motion passed 6–0.

"I motion to declare positions 8, 10, and 11 of the budget committee vacant," Dipan Trentonio said. The chair called the vote and the motion passed unanimously.

After declaring the positions vacant, directors moved to reappoint incumbents for positions 8 and 11. Director Dipan Trentonio moved to reappoint Simona Beatty to position 8; Director Wachter seconded. The reappointment motion carried 4–2.

The board later moved to reappoint Jennifer Pope to position 11; that motion also passed 4–2. Board members discussed whether to open the application process to encourage broader interest and confirmed that the application process would be the same as for board vacancies. The seat that was declared vacant because the previous holder is no longer eligible (position 10) will proceed with the application process, the board said.
