Coggon staff report roughly $50,000 UV sampler quote for wastewater plant; insurance to be consulted

Public Works staff reported at the Sept. 9 meeting that a quote for a new UV system with an automated sampler for the wastewater treatment plant is approximately $50,000. Council members asked staff to check with the city’s insurance provider to determine whether the expense or portions of it might be covered by a claim or policy, and staff said they would follow up.

Staff also reported that an application to the DNR has been submitted to complete certification of the plant’s laboratory. No formal appropriation or vote on the UV equipment was recorded in the minutes; the item remains under review pending insurance feedback and further council consideration.
