The Emmett Independent District board approved its consent agenda and monthly bills and reviewed a draft 2025–26 fiscal audit at its regular meeting.
A staff member presenting the financial report said the audit is considered a draft because federal supplemental reports are not yet published, but that the underlying numbers will not change. “The auditor had to put draft on there,” the presenter said, adding that the district may submit a draft to the state if needed to demonstrate timely completion while awaiting final supplements.
Trustees asked clarifying questions about carryover funds and special allocations. The presenter said the district’s year-over-year carryover fell about 4%, and that some of the increased carryover reflected special state-allocated funds (college and career programs) that were not part of the presenter’s original estimate. The presenter also reviewed enrollment timing and state foundation payment schedules, noting that ADA allocations are determined later in the year.
On routine business, the board moved and seconded approval of the consent agenda and then voted to pay the monthly bills. “In favor of paying the bills, say aye,” the chair said; multiple trustees responded “Aye.”
