The Jurupa Valley Planning Commission voted 5-0 to approve Conditional Use Permit 26008, allowing the Lindo Michoacan restaurant to sell beer and wine for on-site consumption at its Limonite Avenue location.
Associate Planner Oscar Estrada told the commission the request—MA26102/CUP 26008—would keep the 404.02 census tract within the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control's recommended cap of four on-sale licenses and that the project qualifies for a categorical CEQA exemption for existing facilities (CEQA Guidelines §15301). Estrada also described recommended conditions, including operating hours from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. and a prohibition on live entertainment absent a separate approval.
Applicant Martin Lopez, who identified himself as the business owner, said the restaurant is family-focused and that customers had been requesting alcohol sales. "We're gonna have, like, max, like, a max 4 beers per person because I wanna keep it, family oriented," Lopez said. He said the restaurant plans to post signs and otherwise monitor service to avoid turning the location into a bar.
Commissioners asked about limits and enforcement, including whether customers could bring alcohol purchased off-site from the adjacent convenience store; staff and the owner said the restaurant would not permit that practice. Commissioners also discussed the operational meaning of the last-sale condition (7:45 p.m.) and were told patrons would be allowed to finish a meal and beverage after kitchen closure consistent with other restaurants.
Commissioner (speaker 6) moved to adopt Resolution PCDash0020 approving CUP 26008 with the recommended CEQA finding; the motion was seconded and the commission approved it 5-0.
The commission's approval allows the owner to proceed with the ABC licensing process; the ABC approval and any transfer or final licensing steps remain subject to state review.
