City staff used the meeting's final agenda item to highlight several community events and housing opportunities. Staff distributed flyers and asked commissioners to share the information with the public.
Mr. Perez and staff announced a first-time homebuyer workshop set for Saturday, Sept. 12, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at City Hall and a Cantera Project affordable-homeownership information session scheduled for Sept. 22 from 6:00–7:30 p.m. at City Hall (location to be confirmed). Staff said the Cantera session had drawn significant interest at a prior meeting and noted there were three homes proposed for very low-income households within the Cantera project.
Staff also reminded the commission of the State of the City event on Sept. 24 at Patriot High School and a Vernola Ranch grand-opening event. The announcements were provided as outreach to keep residents informed and to encourage RSVPs for the workshops and sessions.
Commissioners thanked staff for the updates and the chair adjourned the meeting.
