The Williamstown Planning Commission on Sept. 9 approved minutes and agreed to staff a booth at the Williamstown Fall Festival to collect public input for the town’s Local Hazard Mitigation Plan (LHMP).
"If you are still interested in doing this – I have been in touch with Lindsey Contois who is organizing the event - - Williamstown Fall Festival. I have signed us up for a booth – it is $50.00 and I did up an invoice for it and Jennifer has given me a check for it," said Susan Lyons, Planning Commission member. Commissioners planned to set up at 10:00 a.m. for the festival’s 11:00 a.m. opening and discussed what materials to bring and staffing for the booth.
Chair Rich Turner said he will follow up with town staff to coordinate outreach and share materials. "I am going to get in touch with Ryan (Town Mgr.) and go over a couple of things with him and see if we can get Front Porch Forum Survey that he had put back on it again," Turner said. He also said he would forward hazard-risk information from Keith C. to commissioners for the LHMP mitigation actions chart.
The commission noted that Sam Lash, who had been expected at the meeting, was absent but had provided items to review. The outreach plan and any materials developed will inform the commission’s next steps on mitigation priorities.
