The Chester County Board of Commissioners reviewed and approved a slate of 14 contract amendments for substance‑use treatment and recovery services during its Sept. 9 meeting.
Jamie Johnson, director of the Department of Drug and Alcohol Services, outlined contract amounts and service types including residential, intensive outpatient, bilingual services and adolescent programming. Notable line items included Eagleville Hospital ($2,000,000), Pyramid Health ($2,000,000) and Keystone Recovery Foundation ($1,200,000). Several other contracts ranged from $20,000 to $300,000 for nonprofit providers and community partners.
Commissioners asked about county matching requirements; Johnson said most of the work is funded by state and federal sources and that county match levels vary by contract. “Operated funding,” Johnson said when commissioners asked about funding sources, and later noted that a portion of program funding comes from county match when required.
The contracts were moved, seconded and approved by voice vote as part of the meeting’s consent and contract approval items. The contracts fund direct service capacity used to provide inpatient, outpatient and community recovery services across the county.
