The board approved a package of policy updates covering instructional definitions, financial controls and student-safety language.
Administrators said IKF was updated to include state-model definitions so district K-3 reading and individualized reading plan language aligns with state guidance. The district also adopted an ACH fraud-prevention policy template from the bank to reduce the risk of erroneous electronic payments. On safe-schools policy JH, the board approved added language addressing "AI generated media deep face and synthetic imagery" created off campus to give the district latitude to respond where students are harmed or feel unsafe. A board member who reviewed the language praised the clarity it provides for addressing off-campus synthetic imagery that affects students at school.
The board also approved clarifications to retirement-benefit policies (GVQ/GVR/GBQ/GCBC consolidations) to reflect changes related to Tier 2 employees and long-term disability language; administrators said payout percentages and core benefits did not change but the documentation was consolidated and clarified for future retirees.
