Change order to complete 16-inch loop on Princeton Road increases contract by $30,705

County staff described a change order needed to complete a 16-inch water-main loop on Princeton Road. The board was told that two sections of 16-inch main were connected by an 8-inch main about 500 feet apart; when crews reached the site they discovered the crossing under Princeton Road was only 8 inches. As staff explained, "When we got out there, we found it was only an 8 inches main crossing Princeton Road from the South to the north," and "this change order will now complete the 16 inches loop by providing for the crossing the 16 inches Water Main Crossing of Princeton Road there." The change order with W.G. Stang LLC increases the contract sum by $30,705 to provide the 16-inch crossing.

The project location was described as between Interstate 75 and Butler Warren Road. Staff said the change is intended to complete a continuous 16-inch loop to improve system continuity; the board recorded the contract change-order item for processing.
