Staff reported a technical problem with the Minecraft sign‑up link: Atlantic Beach was not available as a selectable location, which prevented families from registering for the Atlantic Beach server. "Atlantic Beach wasn't on the actual link... So when kids went to sign up... we were stuck in Jacksonville," one staff member said, adding that the city has reached out to the vendor and is working on a fix.
Committee members said the glitch created an urgent need to extend the sign‑up deadline and to schedule training so kids can access the Atlantic Beach world. Volunteers and staff discussed holding a virtual training (ideally after 5 p.m. to accommodate school schedules) and asked staff to confirm whether the city Zoom could be used to host the session and to publish a new deadline and flyer once a date is set.
The committee also discussed aligning the Minecraft awards and public garden opening/awards announcements. Staff said they are waiting on a date from Amanda and will update the committee when they have confirmation so outreach can proceed.
