Council hears update on Green Way trail and other park capital projects; construction funding still needed

Department staff reviewed progress on the Green Way trail and other park capital projects tied to prior bond authorizations and third-party funding partners. Presenters said bond funding and partner contributions have finished design on many segments but that additional construction funding is still required to complete the planned miles of trail.

Staff noted completed design work on more than a dozen miles and described partnerships with the River Authority and neighborhood stakeholders to fund and build segments. Councilors asked staff to follow up with a memorandum about specific segments, county-owned sections and the timeline for construction funding. The department said it will return with a more detailed schedule and funding requests in later budget sessions.
