Commission reconsiders and approves racetrack plat at I‑40 and Loop 335

The commission approved Plat 2026190, a replat and vacated alley required for a proposed racetrack at Interstate 40 and Loop 335. Brady told commissioners the plat is essentially the same submission they saw previously but was resubmitted with a local surveyor; the applicant is Racetrack Inc., represented on the plat by Furman Land Surveyors.

Staff found the plat conforms with subdivision and development standards but recommended approval conditioned on providing surety for or completing public infrastructure improvements and on receipt of corrected originals. "This is for the proposed racetrack at I 40 and Lakeside Drive...it is essentially identical to what y'all considered before," Brady said.

No public opposition appeared; commissioners moved, seconded and approved the staff recommendation. The commission noted infrastructure surety or completion must be in place before final recording.
