EDC to investigate alternative AI and data-analytics tools and schedule demos/workshops

Board members asked whether the city should rely on a single vendor or explore multiple AI/data analytics platforms for economic development and internal operations. Staff said they would inventory currently used platforms, consult human resources and administration about ethical training, and schedule demonstrations and workshops for the board and staff.

Members emphasized training so board members can understand tool capabilities and limitations; one board member urged an ethics class before operational adoption. Staff agreed to pursue demos from Place AI and other recommended vendors and to provide one-on-one briefings for board members who want deeper explanation.
