The Planning Commission approved the consent calendar and unanimously adopted three resolutions at its Sept. 9, 2026 special meeting. Actions recorded on the public record include:
- Approval of the consent calendar (motion by Commissioner Sarah Foster) with the motion "passes unanimously."
- Adoption of a resolution approving Planning Application AP-2685 for Christmas Ministries to use 3721 Railroad Avenue as a religious assembly with biweekly charitable bingo, subject to conditions (staff-imposed conditions include signage, bicycle parking, loitering rules, security cameras, and fire/building-division items).
- Adoption of a resolution approving Planning Application 203 for Cajun Crack to allow on-site distilled spirit sales (ABC Type 47), subject to ABC PCN and staff conditions.
- Adoption of a resolution approving Planning Application 204 for Island Pacific Market to allow off-sale beer and wine (ABC Type 20), subject to conditions, signage and PCN.
On each approval the chair stated: "Anyone objecting to this decision has 10 days to file an appeal of the decision with the planning division for a hearing before the city council." The commission recorded each motion as passing unanimously among commissioners present; staff will monitor compliance with conditions and confirm required ABC determinations before alcohol sales begin.
