District to recommend Relcom contract for PA and school safety upgrades

Presenter (speaker 3) told the board the district has evaluated three potential vendors and will recommend a contract with Relcom for "a fully upgraded PA system" tied into school safety components. He said the planned package would include blue strobe lights on the exterior and in the pool area, digital clocks capable of relaying safety messages and integration with the phone system so a lockdown button can instantly notify classrooms.

The presenter said the upgrade aims to address places where audio announcements may not be heard clearly (cafeteria, gym, music rooms) by adding visual cues and synchronized messaging. He said the administration will bring more detailed contract documents and cost information to the board on Aug. 31 for further action.
