Vice President Yang and councilmembers signal support for tobacco pricing update; staff to review draft ordinance language

Vice President Yang expressed support for the ANSR proposal and said she has shared draft ordinance language with the Department of Safety and Inspections for review. "I did state my support of this... I've asked our staff to take a look at the language too and inform them about my support for this," Yang said. She said she would like the ordinance to proceed as soon as practicable if there is majority support.

Committee members generally signaled support for taking the next steps. The chair closed the item by thanking the presenters and noting that a formal ordinance could follow from the vice president's office after staff review. The meeting then adjourned.
